how have we contributed to a declining economy that values nonrenewable resources, like coal, over the lives who have endured systemic oppression, ecological inequity, and persecution?

There’s a lot happening in India — behavior and events rooted in structural inequity, fascist policies, and ultranationalist agenda. Where the EIA 2020 seems like just an amendment and positioned as an economic growth opportunity, it’s highly biased and highlights the distinction b/w who this government wants to serve and who are the real second-class citizens. With the release of the revised Environmental Impact Assessment bill, India took a turn towards coal-mining, stealing land from indigenous groups, and actively taking charge away from people who need more support and may lack a voice.

I worked with The Matter Collective to develop a digital-friendly publication, that could help us educate the masses about egregious decisions and laws by Indian government; and to encourage citizens to build a more active democracy.
